[en] Steven Woloshen was born in Montreal, Canada in 1960. It's fair to say that Woloshen has been producing his own films since 1972. After studying media arts in high school in 1977, he entered Vanier College to continue his work in cinema, fine arts and theater. This was an ideal environment to study experimental super -8 film and video techniques. In 1980 he was admitted to Concordia University in Montreal, Canada and specialized in 16 mm documentary and experimental film making.
Since 1982, Woloshen has created documentary, animated and experimental film projects and has been invited to show his films at festivals, cinematheques and galleries in his own country and around the world. He has lectured on the subject of animation and experimentation and has been commissioned to create short animated pieces for other filmmakers, artists and events.
