Masha GODOVANNAYA

[en] Masha Godovannaya is an experimental filmmaker and curator.
Born in Moscow in 1976, she studied music, book editing and publishing in Russia before majoring in film production at Brooklyn College in New York. She worked at Anthology Film Archives as a researcher and film/video curator for several years and completed a number of films which have been screened at many American and international film festivals (NY Underground Film Festival, Evolution Film Festival, Center Georges Pompidou, London Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, etc.). Her curatorial projects have been presented at different venues such as Centro Cultural Banco do Brazil, Yale University, Moscow International Film Festival, Avanto Film Festival and many others.
She now lives in St. Petersburg, Russia where she continues her film-making and curatorial work. She is currently teaching film and video courses at Smolniy College of Liberal Arts and Science.
