Parallèlement à ses films, Ken Jacobs a créé un nombre important de performances sous la bannière de ce qu’il nomme « The Nervous System ». Celles-ci mettent la projection au cœur de leur dispositif. En conséquence, les films qui n'existent que dans ce format tombent peu à peu dans l'oubli.
