Michel AMARGER

(1957- )
Nationality: french

Born in 1957 in Montpellier, France.
He studied litterature, cinema, theater and works as a critic in many periodicals, for cinema and art.
He joined letterist group in 1981.
He takes part to all the exhibitions of this group where he usually shows very personnal works and collaborates to many letterist reviews.
In 1981, he becames the president of "Théâtre Neuf" (New Theater) then creates his own "Théâtre de la Lettre".
Since 1982, he is involved in FIAG he co-created, which is a yearly festival for "avant-garde" works (photos, movies, video and performances).
From 1981, he makes more than 40 experimental films, scratched and hypergraphics works, taking his own inspiration from letterist theories.
He likes showing cinema matter - frames, perforations,... - and tries to make the viewer being one part of these real shows - live -
He published a cinema book called "Cinerama, another way to make film" where he express his desire to work in another and unusual way in cinema.
He is now involved in cinema and art concepts he creates around all the world with news technologies.
