SNIP

by Steven WOLOSHEN

2004 / Beta SP or 35 mm / coul/n&b / sonore / 1 min 40

Shards of film fly off the screen while the music of Fats Wallen plays on! "SNIP" is the lastest cameraless animation by Canadian filmmaker, Steven WOLOSHEN. In this short abstract film, colored ink, and small pieces of film stock are heaped directly on the film's surface. In Cinesmacope, too!

From the filmmaker:
This film was made in the weeks proceding the birth of my fisrt child. It was my intention to create a fast moving, colorful style that a very young child could respond to. I'll see in the years that follow, if i was right or not.
