Shot in Beijing, in December 2003. Edited in March 2006.

Shot at Tiananmen square in early December after a snow storm. The army has taken over the square, breaking, scrapping, and knocking the snow and the ice. The task is difficult. Cacophony is large. Work is not inevitably effective but in front of the number and perseverance the ice is reduced. It is not so much the effectiveness of the gestures than the domestication of the bodies, which oppress and evoke other more dramatic memories.
