POSTCARDS #1

All POSTCARDS' images were shot during the last four years, when I was travelling. Those images mark my presence in a place at a given time. But how to express the density of memories, often scattered, that are intimately linked to a place and to a precise period of time? How to evoke the memory and all the times that overlap through it? It is in the «mathematic» configuration of the installation (4 screens, in loop, on projectors running at different speeds), the filmic mode that I chose to record those images (temporal postcards) and in the spaces that are created between the screens that I managed to recreate these sensations. The eye goes from one screen to another without being able to decide where to stay. The viewer is then only guided by his choices.
With more means, POSTCARDS would have been an installation but the film has the advantage (or the disadvantage) to limit the visual combinations - already vertiginous - of the system.
